"All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players.” (Act ii, scene vii)
Rosalind, daughter of the banished Duke Senior, is exiled by her uncle, Duke Frederick. She flees to the Forest of Arden with her cousin Celia.
Disguised as a young man named Ganymede, Rosalind encounters her love, Orlando, who is also in the forest. Through a series of humorous encounters and disguises, including Orlando wooing Ganymede (Rosalind) to cure his love for Rosalind, the play explores themes of love, identity, and the contrast between court and country life.
Ultimately, the play culminates in multiple weddings and the restoration of order, with Duke Frederick even repenting and restoring Duke Senior's dukedom.
